Designated NLG in first cohort March 2012 – deployed extensively across London and beyond to support/mentor Chairs/GBs and resolve conflict between HTs and GBs.
Selected as NLG Advocate for north London and Hampshire January 2014. Involves working with Regional Schools Commissioners and Teaching Schools to raise profile and recruitment of NLGs.
Lead induction training at NCTL for newly designated NLGs. Attend APPG sessions on school governance policy. Leads and develop governor training in several Local Authorities. Designed skills based ‘Prevent’ workshops for HT’s and Chairs which combine Home Office guidance and local practice.
Manages and co-ordinate a Local Leader of Governor Programme with 12 LLGs providing support in RI schools or schools facing challenges. Worked on the external review of governance team at NCTL and delivered training to NLGs. Trainer for ‘Chairs and aspiring chairs leadership programme.’
Designed and delivered the Governor Accreditation Programme (GAP) which introduces different levels of governor training (1. Foundation; 2. Accredited; 3. Lead) based on modular sessions and self-evaluation. This has proved highly successful in terms of developing a skill-based approach to governor training in areas such as challenge, evidence of impact, bringing data to life and managing conflict.

Nandarani has extensive experience in school leadership, educational consultancy in Headship, School Improvement, inspections, executive and strategic direction within larger educational organisations with high-quality measurable impact.
Nandarani has an astute understanding of the strategic, business, operational, human, including teaching and learning to guide and support school leaders. She has written, accredited, and delivered training for judicial appeals for Clerks Associates and has participated as an independent member of Panels for Admissions, Exclusions, Complaint hearings.
Nandarani is astute, humble, fair, caring, competent and knowledgeable about all the intricacies and challenges of school life and securing the best from the human spirit. She can quickly create trust, stability, and good working relationships to sensitively balance the need to challenge, support, and hold others to account and be respectful and thus empowering leaders to thrive in themselves, their teams and keep pupils at the centre of everything.
Her greatest satisfaction is to leave a school knowing there is a sustainable and onward trajectory of growth and well-being for all its stakeholders.
